SASDS EISTEDDFOD 2026

Due to popular demand, we will be extending SASDS Eisteddfod by one day this year. We will be aiming for a similar plan to last year with…

Troupe Weekend Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September
Hip Hop Night Friday 25th September
Solos/duos/trios Monday 28th September - Saturday 3rd October
Entries Open 12pm Tuesday 31st March
Entries Close 11pm Friday 31st July - *unless sold out prior

What is new in 2026?

We will be retiring the Solo Aggregate Awards this year. However, we are extending the Adjudicator’s Choice Awards. The Adjudicator’s Choice Awards will now be offered in these sub categories (ie, one award in each cluster of genres, four awards for each age group):

*Ballet, Character, National Character

*Contemporary, Lyrical, Acro

*Jazz, Musical Theatre/Broadway Jazz

* Tap, Song & Dance, Song & Tap

NB Hip Hop Night will have its’ own separate awards.

We will introduce a Junior and Senior own Choreography section (any genre) which will be offered instead of the Junior and Senior Improv section. More details to come in the next Buzz.
We will be extending the Secondary School Showcase to include other school age groups.
Introducing a Primary School Showcase (Any year level or levels from Reception to Year 6). We will offer one section for these year levels, any genre may be performed.
Introducing a Lower Secondary School Showcase for performers in Years 7-9 at school. We will offer one section for these year levels, any genre may be performed. NB. These performers may also work up in the Senior Secondary School Showcase Sections.
Senior Secondary School Showcase sections are primarily for performers in Years 10-12 at School but may include performers from years 7-9. The Senior Secondary Showcase will be broken down into the following 3 groups of genres as per last year’s Secondary School Showcase:
-Ballet or Lyrical or Contemporary
-Jazz or Hip Hop
-Song & Dance or Song & Tap or Musical Theatre/Broadway Jazz
